relief

today in relief society we had an amazing lesson on preparing for an eternal marriage, and the triangle of a husband, his wife and the Lord.

we were reminded that as we draw closer to our Heavenly Father, we will become closer with our spouse. i really enjoyed the lesson, especially when she went into detail about not stopping our lives while we wait for the perfect man to come along and make us happy, but to be happy ourselves and strive to live the way we should so that we may attract someone who has a testimony as strong as our own. there were so many great talks and lessons today, its so exciting to see exactly how much i receive out of each and every meeting.

"Please never forget that you must be patient and compassionate with yourselves, that some sacrifices are better than others, that you need not wait for a golden ticket to be happy. Please never forget that the “why” of the gospel of Jesus Christ will inspire and uplift you. And never forget that your Heavenly Father knows, loves, and cherishes you."

i'm so excited for this weekend as well! i've never been more in need of the words spoken in general conference. i'm so grateful to have work off and my family close by so that i may truly take it in. i am in great need of answers to the questions i've been asking.
