old habits die hard

i was telling klay the other day, someone must have driven me around as a baby to calm me down.
i swear its my nicotine.
if i'm bored/ restless/ sad/ angry/ confused/ unsettled and i get into the driver's seat... yeah, good luck getting me out from behind the wheel until i've wasted all my gas sorting out my thoughts and feelings. if i'm feeling anything other than completely content, i "could use a good drive" and i'll be gone for hours.

it is dangerous (i tend to text...),
expensive,
unnecessary...
it is definitely one of my worst habits.

i've made myself a sign:
Photobucket
its actually really embarrassing that a sign is necessary for me to not waste money, but it works! hopefully i can use getting it off of my console as an insentive to drive from point A to point B and back again without any hour long detours.
yeeeesh. so many odd habits to break, but i ♥ new years resolutions!

  1. I say that it's completely theraputic for you, and it would be a shame for you to quit. If it calms your anxiety or depression or stress, drive girl. You aren't hurting anyone. Just cut back somewhere else in your budget :]
